One of the more intriguing, and often quite common experiences when investigating the paranormal
is the recording of an EVP. These can be random noises, such as footsteps, bells and knocking sounds, or they could be
actual voices. The key to EVP is that they are usually sounds that are not heard by people in the room at the time of recording,
only after playing the recording back do you hear these noises or voices.
Various theories exist to potentially explain EVP, such as radio signals interfering with electrical
recording equipment or quite simply people forgetting or not noticing that the noise was there when they were recording. One
paranormal explanation, which has had some support from the scientific community is that spirits exist at a higher frequency
level to that which humans can see or hear. Electronic recording equipment can record frequencies that the human ear cannot
usually detect.
